Oh! Oh! Seven heaven: When the world is not enough, there’s always a 520-horse Brit sex symbol to drive another day
The DBS will launch the new Aston Martin era with one hell of a bang. Set to go into production in October, it’ll be quicker than any Aston road car before it, thanks to its massaged V-12. It’ll weigh about 220 pounds less than a regular DB9. It’ll wear a body kit designed to help it slice through the air more cleanly. And it’ll introduce high-tech materials and a new upgraded cockpit for the entire DB line.
By Phil McNamara in Motor TrendWow! this beauty has sex appeal with speed. Will the DBS really replace the Vanquish? The senior execs say no. “It’ll be our halo car and will have superior performance to the now-aged Vanquish,” says Aston’s Ulrich Bez, before quickly countering: “It’s not the Vanquish successor, but another car to raise awareness of the brand.” As their glory car they say it is tarck-day car. And they are promising that it won’t be a stripped-out street racer like the Ferrari’s 360 Challenge Stardale. They are keeping the element of luxury including carpet (made of lighter material), leather and Alcantara.
“The DBS is brutal, but dressed in black tie.” states Bez in describing this new beauty. This new jewel of Aston will be in the same price range as it’s older sibling the Vanquish $260,000. Now I would this one a chick magnet. I know we will see one of these at DFW Elite Auto Rentals.
