Strong thunderstorms near Dallas have caused many flight delays at the Dallas/ Fort Worth International Airport. As of this morning, there were 50 flight delays and 40 diversions, and there are likely to be more.
Lightning, high winds, and thunderstorms have made air travel difficult, causing some visitors to extend their stay in Dallas/Fort Worth. As the rain pours down, stranded travelers, especially those traveling with their families, begin the search for fun activities to pass the time.Â
But what is there to do in Dallas when the weather won’t cooperate?
One great rainy day activity is the DFW Elite Toy Museum, founded by Ron Sturgeon, owner of DFW Elite Auto Rental, DFW Drive Your Dream, and DFW Elite Car Club. At the toy museum, kids of all ages can escape the rain and storms and explore the vast collection of antique automotive-related toys, including pedal cars and carousel cars, tin cars, race cars, powered large scale toys, construction equipment toys.
“Today the collection is approaching 3000 pieces,†writes Sturgeon on the DFW Elite Toy Museum website. “I hope you will enjoy the collection; it’s been my pleasure to open it up to my friends on display here at my business.†Admission to the museum is free and it is located at 5940 Eden Drive, Haltrom City, TX 76117.
Enjoy indoor activities today because the forecast is for better weather. According to the National Weather Service, Dallas weather should improve by tomorrow. Expected highs are 83 degrees and the chance of rain is only 20%.Â
On a beautiful day like tomorrow, stranded travelers may voluntarily extend their stays to enjoy some of the fun the Dallas – Forth Worth area has to offer. One way that many Dallas visitors enjoy getting out in the sun is to rent an elite sports car, such as a 2007 Bentley Continental GT Convertible.Â
Although owning a car like this, with a base price of around $170,000, is just a dream for most of us, it’s possible to drive that dream by renting a Bentley from DFW Elite Auto Rental. DFW Elite Auto Rental has the largest single location exotic and luxury car rental collection in the country, so if a Bentley isn’t your speed, they are sure to have an elite auto that is.
