Ok, so this doesn’t really have much to do with luxury car rental, but I still think readers of our Dallas exotic car rental blog will find this to be quite a fun story.
I have quite a fascination with how luxury car makers market their products. Really, it’s not normal to be as interested in it as I am.
Anyway, I saw a neat story in Brandweek about how Mercedes is taking the C- car to the people.

Basically, they are doing a whirlwind 11 city tour and and making a stop in Dallas on October 13-14. They are inviting current Mercedes owners and a specific high income and age demographic via email and direct mail to visit a website and sign up for a free test drive on city streets or a closed course.
According to the Brandweek article, Mercedes is expecting about a 10% conversion rate from attendees and some additonal sales from after event buzz. According to the website FAQ, no salespeople will attend.
Mercedes Product specialists will answer questions, but attendees will be free to experience the C-class without a visit to a traditional luxury car showroom.
According to the article, Mercedes has been doing this kind of driving event for 15 years. The C-class starts at 31k and must be fun to drive.

Drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
