Another year, another disappointing season’s end for Dallas Cowboys fans. What promised to be an eventful, and elongated trip through the 2007 NFL playoffs was cut drastically short by a divisional round loss to the New York Giants at Texas Stadium.Â
On the bright side, the Cowboys’ faithful can look forward to being one step closer to never have to sit in a freezing/scorching/dilapidated Texas Stadium ever again. This is, of course, because of the new stadium that is set to open prior to kick-off for the 2009 season.Â
The Dallas Cowboys new stadium is anticipated to cost $1 billion, of which the owner billionaire Jerry Jones is apparently kicking in $300 million of his own money to help complete. The Cowboys new stadium will feature a retractable roof and accommodate 80,000 to up to 100,000 screaming fans. Additionally, the venue will be able to modify to accommodate many different types of audiences (e.g. concerts, etc.).Â
So far no formal name has been selected for the Dallas Cowboys new stadium, but it is affectionately, or not so affectionately, referred to as Jerry World. One thing is for sure, once the official opening of the stadium arrives, you won’t want to miss the fanfare that Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones will roll out to commemorate the event.Â
Providing just the right answer for how Dallas Cowboy fans should undertake their own celebration of such an event is Dallas-area millionaire Ron Sturgeon. Sturgeon, as self-described car fanatic, owns and operates a series of car businesses that provide the perfect complement to such a grandiose occasion.Â
For example, Sturgeon’s DFW Elite Car Club (www.dfwelitecarclub.com) offers people the chance to become members of an exotic car sharing club that features over forty fantastic cars. Everything from armored trucks to sleek European sports cars are at the beck and call of car club members who get to tailor their club membership to their specifications with a tiered points system.Â
For those who aren’t big on commitments but still want to get their hands on some of the finest exotic cars in the world for special occasions, Sturgeon offers DFW Elite Auto Rental (www.dfweliteautorental.com). Not your ordinary car rental agency, DFW Elite Auto Rental rents everything from Bentleys to Ferraris for daily use. The company even offers weekly car rental specials and wedding car rental specials.Â
Still not won over? How about spending an eight-hour day driving five exotic cars throughout the most scenic country Texas has to offer? That’s exactly what DFW Drive Your Dream (www.dfwdriveyourdream.com) makes possible. With several scenic routes to choose from and several different tours, each containing different five-car lineups, it’s hard to imagine a more memorable way to spend a day. Worried about what the wife will say? Bring her along on a special couple’s fantasy car driving tour that features lunch at a five-star restaurant.Â
As for Jerry’s plans on opening day? Don’t worry about him, I don’t think he has to rent anything to get the Cowboys new stadium open.
