Concept: Honda CR-Z Green Car News

Described by Honda using the seemingly contrasting concepts “lightweight sports car” and “hybrid powertrain,” the two-seat CR-Z Concept presages a vehicle the automaker plans to start producing in 2009. The CR-Z name stands for “Compact Renaissance Zero” and, along with the high hatchback rear end, conjures instant associations with the automaker’s iconic CR-X two-seater last sold in 1991. Honda hasn’t released technical specifications for the CR-Z, but it has hinted that the production car to follow will feature a more affordable hybrid powertrain than that currently offered in the Civic.
