Maybe to DFW Elite Auto Rental soon, ya never know! Not quite content with their awesome and stunning Continental GT coupe, Bentley will build yet a newer flagship coupe and draw on their 100 years of British racing heritage by naming her the Brooklands. Brooklands the car commemorates Bentley’s racing exploits in the 1920s at Brooklands the racetrack, which celebrates its centennial this year.
“Bentley’s proud sporting pedigree, forged by the exploits of the immortal Bentley Boys on the famous Brooklands racetrack in the 1920s, was the inspiration for our coupe,” says Bentley chairman Franz-Josef Paefgen. “The Brooklands captures all the style power and splendor of that era.”
First shown at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show, expect to see this remarkable beauty in dealerships about a year from now- BUT- production will be limited to 550 vehicles built during the next three to four years! powered by a higher output version of the Azure’s hand-built 6.75L twin turbo V8 engine, it’s power output is expected to produce 530HP and 774 lb-ft of torque, coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission fitted with a semi-auto manual function.
