Classic Car Rental Agency Owner and Restorer Reunited With Stolen T-Bird Lost 31 Years Ago

I saw this yesterday in the Mercury News and thought it was quite a story. Apparently, a woman purchased the car on EBay and tried to register it at the DMV.

A little investigating determined the correct VIN # on the 1956 T-bird belonged to a car that had been stolen from an auto restorer and car rental agency owner 31 years before.

I absolutely love this sea spray green T-bird! Ron Leung, the rightful owner, plans on fully restoring his recovered classic Ford.

Check out the photos and link to him driving the car and retelling the story.

Glad to give some link love to Mark Gomez from the Mercury News for sharing such a fantastic story. What an amazing stroke of luck for Ron Leung.

Have you ever recovered a stolen item long after the fact?
