Autoblog’s Alex Nunez Recaps News About 2008 Shelby GT Convertible

Given the recent announcement and unveiling of the Shelby GT-H as a Hertz rental exclusive, who wasn’t expecting Shelby and Ford to team up on a version of their own?

Alex Nunez at Auto blog has an excellent post about the newest GT and a good photo. Personally, I think the Vista Blue with Metallic stripes looks a lot sharper than the Hertz version. Ford has narrowed color options to just Vista Blue for 2008. It’s a move that reminds me of the story about the color options offered on the original Ford.

Hertz version is predictably in Hertz colors:

According to Mustang Evolution, the 2008 production run will be limited to 2100 with most expected to be convertibles.

My parents had a mustang when I was growing up and I haven’t driven one since I was 16. I’d love to rent a Ford GT and explore Dallas for the weekend!
