According to the National Weather Service, the high temperature in Austin today will be only 59 degrees. Very heavy rain and high winds blew through central Texas this morning, signaling a cold front and the start of cooler autumn weather.
The Austin-American Statesman described the chilly temperatures in an article today: “To get an idea of how powerful the front was this morning, consider this: the temperature dropped from 70 degrees to 56 degrees in one hour at the airport, which recorded 1.52 inches of rain.â€
The cold weather extends to the Dallas – Fort Worth area, where the National Weather Service predicts a high of only 57 degrees. The chilly weather and rain are prompting many people to search for fun indoor activities.Â
