In the New York Times author Ezra Dyer mentions yet again on how Americans can’t get certain foreign market cars. In the article “An Exotic Just of Reach”
THERE is a subgenre of automotive journalism devoted purely to whining about foreign-market cars not available in North America.
The general format is, “While Americans make do with the (insert name of pathetic United States-market car), the citizens of (choose a country or region: Australia, Europe, Japan, East Timor) are blazing around in the (Nirvana Utopia Shangri-La 5000), which company officials hint could make it here once issues are resolved concerning (choose one: emissions, safety certification, the fact that the windshield can be washed only with deadly mercury).
The take-home message is this: because we cannot buy V-12 diesel Audis or Pagani Zondas or those El Camino-looking trucklets favored by Australians, we Americans are sadly bereft of choice when it comes to cars. Boo hoo.”
Now that is all out of his system. And the added tears to this fate of not available in America is the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR FQ-360. This is great reading and awesome review. The author also provides the alternatives to help solve the lack here in the USA.
Another way to solve the Exotic out of reach problem is to join the DFW Car Club or rent at DFW Elite Auto Rental.
I found that though Ezra mentioned it would be nice to drive a Ferrari killing sedan it is always better to drive the Ferrari.
