2008 Porsche 911 GT2: The Fastest 911 Ever

With a twin-turbocharged version of the automaker’s famous flat-six engine—one capable of sending 530 horsepower to the rear wheels below it—Porsche claims the 911 GT2 will charge to 60 miles per hour in a scant 3.7 seconds and keep powering to a top speed of 204 miles per hour. Other extremes include resilient, lightweight brake discs made of composite carbon fiber/ceramic compound and 19-inch wheels and tires with rear rubber measuring 13 inches wide. The 911 GT2 goes on sale early in 2008 at a price reaching into the $200,000 range.
