ADAM AIRCRAFT GROUNDED

It is a strange time for the personal and corporate aviation market.  On the one hand, many have speculated that times should be good for makers of small jets as the international market increases its demand for such planes.  On the other hand, the domestic economy, still the bread and butter of the industry, is faltering. 

It appears that one victim of this dichotomy is Adam Aircraft.  The Colorado-based jet manufacturer has ceased all operations.  This move is being reported as a suspension as continuing negotiations with lenders and efforts to raise additional capital continue.  It is reported that Adam Aircraft needs $100 million to continue producing its A500 turboprop plane and its A700 very light jet. 

The company appeared to be most excited about its A700 very light jet that it promised to produce at a cost of only $2.5 million to customers and could produce in just 12 weeks.
